Every Wednesday during term-time Chum Creek Primary School hosts a small Playgroup for the under-5s of our local community. It begins shortly after 9 and runs until around 11, and is a relaxed and low-key affair coordinated by one of our Junior class teachers who engages the children with a structured variety of activities, games, stories and music that reflect a weekly theme, which is then followed by free play.

Because it is run at school during school hours attending the Playgroup is a chance for families to observe Chum Creek Primary School in operation and to absorb the “vibe”. Many families have found this to be a gentle and beneficial orientation to school for their pre-school aged children.

All parents and pre-school children are welcome and there is no compulsion to enrol children once they reach school age (although we would love that!) There is also no fee but we do ask for a gold-coin donation to cover the cost of morning tea.
